Terms of Service
Last updated 8 October 2026
The short version. You must be 18 or over. Trive is fitness information, not medical advice, and you train at your own risk. Programmes are written by the people who publish them, and they are responsible for them. Prices are in Singapore dollars. Credits are bought through Apple, never expire, and have no cash value. Refunds go through Apple. On each sale Apple takes its fee and GST, Trive takes 10% of the price, and the coach earns the rest, paid after 45 days. Be decent to other people. If something goes wrong, email us first. The full terms below are what count.
1. Who we are and this agreement
Trive is an app run by Trive Ventures Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202624231K), a company registered in Singapore ("Trive", "we", "us"). "The app" means the Trive app and the services in it. These terms are a legal agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using Trive, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Trive.
Trive is an app for following and sharing training programmes. We do not provide personal training, medical, physiotherapy or nutrition services.
Trive is offered in Singapore. Section 5 has extra terms for people who publish programmes ("coaches"). Section 16 has terms Apple requires.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will close it.
- One person, one account. Do not share it or use someone else's.
- Give true details, and keep your login safe. You are responsible for everything done on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
3. Your health and safety
Trive is not medical advice. Trive and every programme in it are general fitness information. They are not medical, physiotherapy or nutrition advice, and they are not a replacement for a doctor or a coach who can see you in person.
- See a doctor before starting any new training programme, especially if you have an injury, a health condition, or are pregnant or have recently given birth.
- Stop straight away and get help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest pain or shortness of breath.
- You train at your own risk. Exercise, and lifting weights in particular, can cause injury. You choose what you lift, how hard you train, and whether a programme suits you. Use good form, a safe space, safe equipment and a spotter where needed.
- No promised results. Results depend on you, your body, your effort, your diet and your sleep. Nobody can promise you a result, and we do not.
Hard training. Some programmes, including some by Trive, ask you to train close to failure (for example an effort of RPE 9 to 10, with one rep or none left). Training this hard raises the risk of injury, especially for beginners. If you are new to lifting, choose lighter weights, favour machines, and do not train to failure until you can keep good form on every rep.
You accept these risks. By using Trive, you accept the risks that come with training and agree that, as far as the law allows, Trive is not responsible for any injury, illness, loss or damage that comes from your training or from following any programme, unless it was caused by our negligence or fraud.
Who writes the programmes. Programmes are written by the people who publish them. We do not check anyone's qualifications, and we do not review, test or endorse programmes before they are published. Programmes marked "by Trive" are written by us and are general programmes, not tailored to you.
Numbers in the app. Records, leaderboards, Insights and other figures are worked out from what people log. They are shown as recorded and may be wrong. We do not check them.
4. Credits and programmes
4.1 Who you are buying from
When you join a paid programme, you get access to it from Trive. Coaches license their programmes to Trive, and Trive pays them a share of each sale (section 5).
4.2 Prices and payment
All prices in Trive are in Singapore dollars (S$) and include GST where it applies. You buy credit packs in the app through Apple. Apple takes the payment, and Apple's own terms also apply to that purchase. We never see your card details.
4.3 Credits
- Credits are a way to unlock programmes inside Trive, and nothing else. They are not money, a deposit, or a stored balance of money.
- Credits never expire.
- Credits have no cash value. They cannot be cashed out, refunded by Trive, exchanged for money, or moved to another person or account, except where the law requires it.
- If you delete your account, or we close it under section 11, unused credits are lost.
- If we ever stop running the app, we will tell you at least 30 days before. Credits end when the app does, except where the law requires otherwise.
4.4 What you get when you join a programme
A personal, non-transferable right to use that programme inside Trive for your own training, not for any business. For example, you may not use it to train your own clients. You may not copy, share, sell, publish or record it for others, inside or outside Trive. Free programmes cost nothing and the same rule applies.
Your access lasts for as long as we run the app and your account is open. If a coach deletes their account or a programme, people who paid for it keep it. A coach may update their programme after you join, and we are not responsible for changes coaches make. We may remove access to a programme if the law requires it or if it is unsafe or infringes someone's rights.
4.5 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's refund policy. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Trive does not give refunds itself, including for credits already spent on a programme. This does not take away any rights you have under Singapore law.
If Apple refunds a credit pack, the credits from that pack are removed from your balance. If you had already spent them, your most recently joined paid programmes are locked until your balance is back to zero or above. You can join them again later.
5. Publishing and selling programmes (coaches)
Anyone with a Trive account can create, publish and sell programmes. If you do, you are a "coach" in these terms and this section also applies to you.
5.1 You are responsible for your programmes
Trive does not ask for or check qualifications, and does not review your programmes. You alone are responsible for every programme you publish, including that it:
- is your own work, or you have the right to publish and sell it;
- is accurate, honest about who it suits and what it involves, and reasonably safe for the people it is aimed at;
- does not promise results or make health, medical or "science-based" claims you cannot back up;
- follows the law, including consumer protection law.
You are an independent creator, not our employee, partner or agent. You are responsible for any tax on what you earn.
5.2 Your licence to Trive
You keep ownership of your programmes. You give Trive a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free (apart from your share of sales below) licence to host, copy, adapt for display, make available and sell access to them in Trive, and to use them, your name, profile photo and coach profile to promote Trive. This licence continues for people who have already joined a programme, even if you later delete it or your account.
5.3 What you earn on each sale
You choose a price from the tiers shown in the app, in S$. For every sale:
- Apple's fee and GST come off first. Apple keeps its commission and the 9% GST included in the price. Together this is currently 35.78% of the price.
- Trive's fee is 10% of the price.
- You earn the rest.
Example: on a S$9.99 programme, Apple and GST take about S$3.57, Trive takes about S$1.00, and you earn about S$5.42. Your Earnings screen shows every sale to the cent. We may change Trive's fee or the price tiers. We will tell you in the app or by email at least 7 days before, and a new fee applies only to sales made after the change. If Apple lowers its commission for Trive, your share goes up.
5.4 When you are paid
- Earnings are held for 45 days after each sale. This is the period in which Apple may refund the buyer.
- After that, they are paid to your bank account through Stripe. To be paid, you must set up a Stripe account in the app and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Stripe's terms and fees apply. Trive never sees your full bank details.
- Payouts are made in regular runs once your cleared earnings reach S$10. Below that, they wait for a later run.
- If a buyer is refunded before you are paid, the earnings from that sale are cancelled. If the refund comes after you are paid, we may take the amount from your future earnings.
- If you delete your account, earnings not yet paid out to you are forfeited to Trive.
- We are not responsible for payout delays caused by Stripe, banks or checks they run. We may withhold or deduct tax from earnings if the law requires it.
- We may hold or cancel earnings while we look into suspected fraud, a refund or chargeback, fake purchases, or a serious breach of these terms. We will tell you if we do.
5.5 Removing programmes
We may refuse, hide or remove any programme, at our discretion, including one that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is unsafe, misleading, low quality or infringes someone else's rights. We decide how programmes are shown, ordered and recommended in Trive. We are not responsible for lost sales from removing, hiding or ranking a programme.
No promised earnings. We do not promise any number of members, sales or income.
No exclusivity. Trive and other coaches may publish programmes similar to yours. Exercises, training methods, set and rep schemes and general ideas are not owned by anyone, and using them is not copying your programme.
5.6 Claims about your programmes
If anyone makes a claim against Trive, its directors or staff because of your programme or your conduct (for example, that it copied their work or caused an injury), you agree to cover Trive's losses, damages and reasonable legal costs from that claim, except to the extent our own negligence caused it, and as far as the law allows. We will tell you about the claim and let you take part in responding to it.
5.7 Disagreements with members
Questions about a programme are between the member and the coach. Trive is not a party to them, though we may help or step in if we choose to.
5.8 Your members' information
You may see who has joined your programmes. Use that information only inside Trive and only for your programmes. Do not copy, export, sell or share it, and do not contact members outside Trive to market to them. You are responsible for following Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 when you handle it.
5.9 Keep sales on Trive
Do not use Trive to send members elsewhere to buy your programmes, or to get around Trive's fee.
6. Your content, the community and feedback
Your content includes your profile, photo, bio, reviews, records and programmes. You own it. You give Trive a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, show and share it in Trive so the app can work.
Featuring. We may also feature public content, such as published programmes, reviews, and the names and profile photos that go with them, to promote Trive in the app, on our website and on social media. We will not feature your private training data. To ask us to stop featuring you, email us; it applies to new material from then on.
What other people can see: your name, profile photo, bio, join date and follower count; your reviews; your coach profile if you have one; and, when you join a programme, its other members see your name, workout count and records on that programme's leaderboard. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
6.1 Zero tolerance for abuse
Trive has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post or do anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or shows hate towards anyone;
- is sexual, violent, graphic or illegal;
- is spam, a scam, or advertising for something outside Trive;
- pretends to be someone else, or uses someone else's work or photos without permission;
- is a fake or dishonest review, or a review of your own programme;
- gives dangerous training, diet or drug advice.
We do not have to monitor content, but we may. We do not check who people are. Take care when dealing with other people, in Trive and in our Telegram group.
You can report a profile, programme or review, and block anyone, from inside the app. Reported content may be hidden automatically while we look at it. We may remove any content, and suspend or close any account, that we reasonably believe breaks these rules.
6.2 Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, in the app, by email or in our Telegram group, we may use them freely, without paying or crediting you.
6.3 Our Telegram group
We invite people to a Trive group on Telegram. Telegram is run by a separate company under its own terms and privacy policy. The rules in section 6.1 also apply there. Anything you post in the group can be seen by its other members, so do not share private details. We may remove anyone from the group.
6.4 If someone copied your work
Email us with your name, what was copied, where it is in Trive, and why it is yours. We may remove it and close the account of anyone who repeatedly copies others.
7. Using Trive fairly
Do not: try to break into Trive or other people's accounts; get around payments, limits, blocks or locks; copy, scrape or download content in bulk; share paid programmes outside Trive; reverse-engineer, copy or interfere with the app; use bots or fake accounts; or open a new account to get around a suspension.
8. The app and our brand
The Trive app, name, logo, design and Trive's own programmes belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's App Store usage rules and these terms. Apart from that, you may not copy or use them.
9. Other companies' services
Trive relies on other companies, including Apple (payments and sign-in), Google (sign-in), Stripe (coach payouts) and Telegram (our group). Their own terms apply to their services. We are not responsible for their services, or for anything outside Trive that a link takes you to.
10. Changes, and when Trive is unavailable
We keep improving Trive, so features, credit pack prices and price tiers may change, and features may be removed. We try to keep Trive running but cannot promise it will always be available, fast, or free of errors, or that data will never be lost. As far as the law allows, Trive is provided "as is".
We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and update the date at the top. If you keep using Trive after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. What is deleted, and the little that is kept, is set out in the Privacy Policy. Unused credits are lost.
We may suspend or close your account, or remove access to any feature, if you break these terms, if you put other people or Trive at risk, if your account is used for fraud, or if the law requires it. We may also stop offering the app, or any part of it, as set out in section 4.3. If you think we got it wrong, email us and we will look again.
Sections 4.3, 5.2, 5.6, 5.8, 6, 12, 13, 14 and 17 keep applying after your account ends.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Apart from that, and as far as the law allows:
- we are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage that comes from your training, or from following a programme or anything else in Trive, unless it was caused by our negligence;
- coaches, not Trive, are responsible for their programmes, and users are responsible for what they post and do;
- we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, such as lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data;
- we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at the companies in section 9, internet failures, attacks, disasters or new laws;
- claims can only be brought against Trive Ventures Pte. Ltd., not against its directors, officers or staff personally;
- our total responsibility to you for all claims together is limited to the greater of what you paid for credits in the 12 months before the claim, or S$100. This limit does not reduce earnings we owe a coach under section 5.
13. Your responsibility to us
If anyone makes a claim against Trive, its directors or staff because you broke these terms or the law, misused Trive, posted content you had no right to post, or because of your own training or conduct towards others, you agree to cover Trive's losses, damages and reasonable legal costs from that claim, except to the extent our own negligence caused it, and as far as the law allows.
14. Complaints and disputes
- Talk to us first. If you have a complaint or a claim, email TriveVentures.HQ@gmail.com with your name, the email on your account, what happened and what you would like us to do. We will reply, and both sides will try in good faith to sort it out within 30 days. You agree not to start a court claim before then, unless you need urgent relief or a deadline would otherwise pass.
- Singapore courts. If it is not sorted out, the courts of Singapore decide it, and only they do. Smaller claims can go to the Small Claims Tribunals.
- Time limit. As far as the law allows, any claim about Trive must be started within one year of when it arose. This does not apply to claims for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- One person at a time. As far as the law allows, claims must be brought by you on your own behalf, not as part of a group or representative action.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
15. Notices
We may give you notices in the app or by email to the address on your account. Formal notices to us must be sent to TriveVentures.HQ@gmail.com.
16. Apple
- These terms are between you and Trive only, not Apple. Trive, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store usage rules.
- Apple has no duty to provide any maintenance or support for the app. For support, contact us.
- If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any). As far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty duty for the app. Any other claims, losses or costs from a failure to meet a warranty are Trive's responsibility, to the extent these terms do not exclude them.
- Trive, not Apple, is responsible for dealing with any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, Trive, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile data or internet service terms.
- Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to Trive Ventures Pte. Ltd., TriveVentures.HQ@gmail.com.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
17. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Trive about the app. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, that part is applied as far as it can be and the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer this agreement to a business that takes over Trive or its app; you may not transfer it. Nothing in these terms makes you and Trive partners, employer and employee, or agents of each other.
You agree to receive notices and agreements electronically. Records we keep electronically, such as when you created your account and accepted these terms, may be used as evidence. Headings are for ease of reading only.
Trive's directors, officers and staff may rely on sections 12, 13 and 14, and Apple may rely on section 16, under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001. No one else has a right to enforce these terms.
